Frequently asked questions

Hannah Rollings creates expressive contemporary landscape paintings that explore colour, light and a strong sense of place. Her work moves between colourful landscape art and more abstract, gestural painting, with landscapes inspired by locations including Barbados, Cornwall, Normandy and the British countryside.

Hannah’s paintings are closely connected to the places she experiences. Her recent collection includes tropical landscapes painted in Barbados, Cornish coastlines around the Camel Estuary, the Eure Valley in Normandy and the River Thames in London. Her paintings capture the atmosphere, light and feeling of these places rather than simply depicting the landscape literally.

Plein air painting means painting outdoors, directly from the landscape rather than working solely from photographs or a studio setting. Hannah Rollings frequently paints en plein air, allowing the changing light, colour and atmosphere of a particular place to influence the finished artwork. This gives her contemporary landscape paintings an immediate, energetic quality.

Yes. Bella + Ollie’s Hannah Rollings collection features original paintings available to buy online. Each artwork includes details of its size, materials, framing and price, so you can explore the collection and find an original landscape painting suited to your home or collection.
