Hannah Rollings

Original Oil + Oil Stick on Linen Canvas

Vivid, energetic and full of movement, Across the Shallows captures the changing light of the Cornish coast through Hannah Rollings’ expressive approach to landscape painting. Created en plein air at Rock Beach in north Cornwall, the work looks across the Camel Estuary towards Stepper Point and the headland beyond.

Turquoise, lavender, green and pink sweep through the dunes, wildflowers and shallows, creating a dramatic coastal composition that shifts between recognisable landscape and abstraction. The vivid painterly strokes reflect the constantly changing light of the location, giving the painting a sense of movement and atmosphere.

Across the Shallows was exhibited at Babington House, Soho House, Somerset during the launch evening and artist talk for Hannah Rollings’ collection.
