Hannah Rollings

Original Acrylic, Oil, Oil Stick + Flashe on Cotton Canvas

Painted en plein air in Hunte’s Gardens in Barbados, Hunte’s Gardens captures the feeling of being surrounded by lush tropical greenery, towering palms and the vivid colours of an island garden. For anyone drawn to the warmth of tropical landscapes, the rhythm of palm trees or the memories of holidays spent somewhere a little further from home, this expressive landscape painting offers a way to bring that feeling into your own space.

Rollings experiments with a rich colour palette and layers of paint to build energy and depth throughout the work. Paler, bleached blues contrast with deeper greens and phthalo blue, while delicate garden plants sit alongside the dramatic scale of the palms. The result is a vibrant piece of contemporary landscape art that feels both connected to its location and open to your own memories of tropical gardens, warm afternoons and faraway places.

Hunte’s Gardens was also exhibited at Babington House, Soho House, Somerset, as part of Hannah Rollings’ collection launch and artist talk, giving members the opportunity to experience the collection in person before its online release.
