Hannah Rollings

Original Acrylic, Oil + Oil Stick on Panel

Turning from the brightness of the Caribbean day to the atmosphere of night, Night Pool is a small original painting from Hannah Rollings’ Barbados series. The hotel pool becomes a painterly playground of rich marks, colour and abstraction as the light changes.

Rather than simply depicting a poolside scene, Rollings uses the location as a starting point for an expressive exploration of colour and mark-making. The result is a contemporary abstract landscape work with a more atmospheric quality, capturing the feeling of a place as much as its physical surroundings.

Night Pool was exhibited at Babington House, Soho House, Somerset during Hannah Rollings’ collection launch and artist talk.
